In a party that has long been dominated by white men, a female candidate for the state House of Representatives in Georgia could set the tone for a movement that has been slow to catch up to the changing demographics of the country.

In an upset victory on Tuesday, Georgia Republican Party Chairman Robert Boyd defeated a tea party challenger, Republican incumbent Marcia Green.

Boyd won a crowded primary with endorsements from several of the state’s Republican leaders, including Georgia GOP Chairman Robert Pappas, the state GOP chairman, and the Georgia secretary of state.

“This is the first time that I’ve ever run as a Democrat,” Boyd told The Hill.

“The people of Georgia have voted for me for several years now, and I want to make sure that they continue to do so.

And so I’m going to continue to fight for them and keep fighting for them.”

Boyd has been the state party chair since the death of state Rep. David McIntosh in January.

McIntosh had endorsed Boyd for the Georgia House seat, but he died in a motorcycle accident in June and Boyd, who is black, had not announced his candidacy until late August.

On Tuesday, Boyd won more than 1.4 million votes in the first round of primary voting, and he is expected to have enough support to secure a majority of the seats in the Georgia General Assembly.

McIntoson, a Democrat, had been running for the seat since he was first elected to the House in 2010.

In the race, Boyd came in third place in the primary vote and took less than 1 percent of the vote, according to unofficial tallies by the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

McDonald, a former Georgia state legislator, has been one of the party’s strongest leaders in recent years, but Boyd is seen as a more electable candidate, according a poll by the University of Georgia political science department.

Georgia has long seen a steep decline in the share of the electorate that identifies as Democrat or leans Republican, as evidenced by a significant drop in the percentage of voters that identify as black in recent elections.

This trend has accelerated since the rise of President Donald Trump in the 2016 election, when a record number of white voters chose to support Trump over Democrat Hillary Clinton.

The Democratic candidate in Georgia in the House race was not white, and she also ran against a Republican incumbent.

In the House primary, Boyd was a long-shot candidate with little support in the Democratic party and few endorsements from the party leadership.

McGregor, a veteran civil rights activist who had served in the civil rights movement and is the co-founder of the Georgia Democratic Party, was also a longshot candidate.

Boyd was one of only five House Democrats in the state to support McGhee’s nomination to the state Senate, and his endorsement was a strong indicator of his support.

McGhee was the state Democratic Party’s nominee in the 2010 election.

However, the Republican establishment, including members of the National Republican Congressional Committee, were not impressed with McGhee.

The Georgia Democratic National Committee criticized Boyd for endorsing McGhee, calling the decision a “clear indication of how the party is treating black candidates and the Black community.”

Boyle, a retired Navy veteran who grew up in Marietta, was elected to Congress in 2010 with the support of a large swath of the Republican Party, which includes some of the most powerful members of Congress.

He is one of three Republican candidates vying to replace former Rep. Paul Ryan, the former chairman of the House Budget Committee and the 2012 Republican presidential nominee.

Ryan was one the most vocal opponents of President Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign, and Boyd has not shied away from criticizing him.

Boyd said that he would fight to elect Democratic members of both chambers in Georgia.

“[Trump] has done a lot of things for us, but it has been our jobs to do them,” Boyd said.

“We’re the ones who are getting the bills passed, and we’re the people who are taking care of our families.

And I will do that with all of my heart, and my soul.”

A former member of the Marine Corps, Boyd served in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Before coming to Congress, Boyd worked as a lawyer for the National Rifle Association, where he worked for the firearms advocacy group, the National Shooting Sports Foundation.

Bowlen is the second African-American member of Georgia’s congressional delegation.

The Georgia House first elected a black member in 1974.

Republican members of Georgia congressional delegations, including the Republican majority in the Senate, have faced a number of challenges in recent decades, including a wave of white flight that has made it harder for minority candidates to get elected in Republican-dominated states.
